Ibanex BTB33 Low B

Hello. I am an amateur, but i love the bass. I finally got to the point where i wanted a 5 string bass. I went into the used instrument store and saw this beauty. But it had the high C string. They told me not to worry, just change out the strings. But in my frantic research i see people having to choose certain types of B strings because the bass is 33" or even having to work on the nut. Really, i dont want to physically alter the bass outside of a string change. If it comes to it, i can just re-select another bass (mine us on layaway) that runs the low B natively. But this bass felt so nice in my hands. Thoughts? Advice?

i went back to the store (the bass is on layaway). I was hoping to get it before they restrung it with the strings I got there at the store (not sure which ones they are, but I am sure they are popular ones). I took the bass to an amp and went to town. They gave me a really good speaker to play out of. I decided to get another nearby bass that was a dedicated 6 string (Low B) to hear if there was any difference . . . if the low B hit the frets or got out of tune. I was hooked into a pre-amp that identified my pitches and I made sure to dwell on the low B when I could. Honestly, I don't think they did any nut work, they just swapped out the strings. It sounded pretty nice. I then saw a 6-string fretless bass (I am actually a classically trained violinist) and went to town. holy moly! It was a "Human". Very very musical. In fact, I played it like a violin. I have some electric drums I no longer use, and I may exchange it for that one. There was another 6-string bass there, and like the Human bass it was also more expensive, but it had nice action. All in all, at the moment, I am happy with the Ibanez. When I play it, I can hear some twang of metal hitting the frets, but I heard the same on the other fretted 6-string bass, but it never made it out the speaker. I'll keep going there. I have two weeks to pay it off, but if I decide to get a more expensive one, I don't mind paying more . . .I've come this far.

The bass has 2 truss rods so it's a breeze to adjust. The pickups are the same as used in the ibanez 6 string bass.

It also has graphite reinforcement according to Ibanez wiki.
