Ibanez Artcore??

I just got the new musicians' friend catalog and Ibanez's new artcore basses (based on the artcore guitars) caught my eye.
Does Ibanez make a good bass? Does anyone here have some actual playing experience with these particular basses? cause I'm not sure exactly how new they are...
