ibanez bass overdrive

I've tried out the ibanez pd-7. it's a pretty decent overdrive pedal. it's a little bluesy sounding for my taste. this overdrive pedal will not reduce low-end. even at a heavy setting, the low-end of your sound will still be preserved with this pedal. in my opinion, this pedal is more suitable for rock music.
it was the first dirt pedal i bought, and ill say its a good start, but for a few bucks more you can get a Bass Big Muff Pi, which i find is a lot better.
Certainly the best deal on the market as far as overdrive goes.
The Big Muff doesn't sound the same at all, it's more of a fuzz. So it's really about what you like and need.

Thats true, in terms of Overdrive i would say its definitely the best deal out there.
I wonder if this pedal would get me the type of overdrive that Bryan Beller gets in his lesson video on the Bassplayer.com site?

I used to have one and used it a lot. My experience is that it wasn't a great overdrive... but then again maybe I don't know what great overdrive is, since I used it as distortion.
I used it in "overdrive" mode, not the "distortion" mode though.
And it does that very well. Distortion I mean.
I think I am in the same boat as Ayliffe, we maybe want something different than overdrive.
I like the Bass Big Muff to. But IMO a bit of a different animal, and I do prefer the Phat Hed over a Big Muff given the choice between the two.
But, I agree with above posters: great deal at that price.
It's reliable, and the sound quality is very good.
