Ibanez BTB Club, Part 2!

As others have posted wood products such as bass guitars are varied in weight. I'm rather sure that the BTB 6 string you're after is on the heavy side. If weight is (one of) your primary concern(s), then any 6 string SR series will likely be more comforting. I've seen several 6 string BTBs on Sweetwater which weigh from 9 lb 6 Oz to 11 lb 11 oz (4.3 to 5.3 kg). My 5 string & 7 string BTBs are 4.4 kg & 5 kg, whereas my 6 string SR is (only) 3.8 kg.

Yesterday, I spotted a BTB400QM in a pawnshop 1/2 hour drive from my place.
Price tag: €139.90 (=US$ 160.00), that is negotiable, in principle.
The body is black with a swirl effect (quilted maple!) on the top.
What style of music can I play with this ? I'm rather in Jazz and Blues.
Is it true one can get a decent Stingray tone with it ?

Don't think you could get a convincing stingray sound with that. You can play just about any style of music you want. Dual soapbars will give a variety of times to choose from and you can always upgrade the pickups or electronics down the road.

That price is a bargain. I would take it. These are good basses.

I played Ibanez for years. It's the only other brand besides Fender I ever played and bought. With that said I don't have any Ibanez basses currently and am leaning toward buying An ergodyne edb600. The issue is that I am looking at a p bass as well and my attraction to the p bass is playing a factor but I just traded in a p bass to GC and made $$ so I can buy an Ibanez possibly. The whole point was to get rid of a p bass because I wanted a faster action smaller slimmer neck. Idk what to do and I gotta pull the trigger and buy one today.

If the stock pickups remain, probably not; the BTB405QM I had was somewhat metallic and canny.

Here I am debating on buying an Ibanez. I'm a Fender guy and a p bass guy. I always liked Ibanez and have owned quite a few throughought the years. I'm currently caught between a rock and a hard place cause I need to make a decision on either a MINT CONDITION ergodyne edb600 which is one of my all time favorite basses or an esp vintage 204. What to do...

Is anyone experiencing problems with the older cases? I have a BTB33NT with the ATK1000C case. I've read some unfriendly stories and mine also is a very snug fit in order to close. I'm considering the BTB 845 and noticed that the case has been redesigned and the ATK1000C is no longer available. Now I worry about stress on the bass from the case.

It's always something.

Also any feedback about the BH2 pickups would be appreciated. I'm hoping for a workhorse with a "mostly" all around tone availability, with the understanding that my Le Bass Pre may fill most tone voids. I know I can't have it all.
