IBANEZ EDB600 Active/Passive switch?

The ibanez edb600 is an active bass guitar
meaning it has a battery to power the pre amp. (9 volts)
I have been told by 2 experienced bass players that there is a switch to change from active to passive

My edb600 has a mechanical problem
Where the pre amp uses up the 9 volt battery extremely quick
once every 2 weeks at the quickest

I was wondering if anyone knew how to change from active to passive?

Your batteries should be lasting years so i would really look into getting that problem fixed before you worry about adding the active passive switch. . . . lets get the obvious question out the way first. . . are you making sure to unplug the jack when you are not using the bass?

This might be helpful. The diagram for the RD900 shows a bypass switch. I'm going to get one installed in my RD500 when I get it ( should be here today). You should still have volume and pan. Hope this helps.

Noope,
Its actually a mechanical problem
So im trying to get a switch to change from passive and active
Just so i can have it on passive and it wont eff up
