I can think of a half-dozen good reasons. This has the roasted (baked, broiled, stir-fried, whatever) neck, correct?

Are the anomalies more pronounced during particular tunes, runs, or riffs? I know it's a peculiar question but we'll be trying to discern whether we're dealing with technique or hardware concerns.

It is mostly when slapping. I have no problem muting when playing finger style, but slapping say on the E the B string rings a lot and some times the E if I do a riff. Love the bass. Very resonant! Have four other 5 strings and the B on those will sound some but not as much as the EHB. This is the 1505 standard scale. The Nordys are very hot I even love the tone in passive mode. I have been playing a Lakland 55aj for a long time now and do not get a lot of overtones I can't handle. Playing for about 45 years, it is not technique.

I can't speak with any authority on slapping and muting but it certainly speaks volumes for the roasted neck.

Thanks! I'll give that a shot! I just had my tech setup my EHB and the issue seems to be mostly fixed. I haven't really sat down with it, just got home. But I'll let you guys know! I think I'm going to do a love stream for the pickup swap, it's going to be fun!
