You never said it had to look cool just plaster the thing with stickers. I came around to the looks of my ATKs eventually, so you could probably learn to love a Talman. Everything else about the TMB100 is pretty great, especially for the price.

These sound FANTASTIC - I have two students who have them and I have been duly impressed. They're active (at least the ones I've seen) and they're LOUD. Feel and sound great too, very versatile.

I really think you'll keep this bass forever if you buy one. It sounds like it's everything you're asking for in a lefty.

Looks like the short scales are passive, but @Direwoof presumably would opt for the long scale over passive electronics. You could always just leave the EQ knobs at center. If you could wire it passive, those pickups would still sound really good; they certainly do in the MiKros.

I want to try the short scales myself, but I can’t really justify acquiring one when the MiKro I got for free is already as good as it is.

Your best bet is to hit Reverb, search for "left handed bass", pick the "Bass Guitar" category, add your budget range and see what's available. Bump up your budget range until you find what you want.

this is one of teh few song that make me thing I need a 5 string damn that is HEAVY. Usually I think of a 5 string bass as a thumbrest.

I don’t care for 34” scale Soundgear/SR necks but I do like these: shallow, but wider than a jazz.

Just got it in and I loove eit! It's actually my fav bass now it sounds INSANE it's so aggressive and loud sounding and teh neck is perfect for me. Idk what everyone was talking abt thinn neck it's pretty much same as my P bass much bigger than a J bass or GIO neck. So ironic that the 175 dollar bass I like more then the 1100 dollar bass haha but that's how it goes.

I told you it would be more substantial than a Soundgear/SR or jazz people who don’t play them love to assume that every Ibanez bass is a Soundgear and casually toss off the phrase “skinny Ibanez necks” when many of their models don’t look or play anything like a Soundgear I would be interested to know the precise dimensions of that neck, to see how close it comes to the necks of the Japanese-made Roadbass models that immediately preceded (and clearly inspired) the EXB series; my Precision and ATK necks are both slightly but noticeably wider and deeper than the neck on my RD828.

I’m glad to hear it fits your hands, and the sound in your head as well I’m favoring my reverse-P/J Ibanez basses myself

If memory serves, the neck on my EXB-404 was in between a Fender Jazz and Precision, leaning more towards the Jazz, though. Not too thin and comfortable.

Yeah I think my Austin P bass what im most used to has a slightly slimmer neck front to back than a real fender P bass and it feels pretty much exactly same as my EX 404.
