Ibanez Mikro Bass buzz

Hi all , i just bought a new Mikro bass and pluged into the amp with no touching of the guitar the buzzing and humming is quite loud , if i touch the strings or bridge it goes away or if i roll the tone control completely off it will go away . What should i do , has any other Mikro bass owners come across this problem ? Is their a fix for this . Thanks for any help.

Hi , just wondering if my post concerning my Mikro bass gets posted in a general forum about bass's or will it get directed to the Official Mikro bass club Part 3. If not how would i get this post to them . Thanks .

Sorry for being late, I just saw this. When I got my Mikro it had pretty much the same hum you describe. Thinking the bridge ground may have a poor connection, I had a look under the bridge. There was no bridge ground wire at all! The run for it had been drilled, but it wasn't installed. I just connected a stranded copper wire to the pot grounds, and fanned one end out under the bridge. Not a professional connection but good enough.

Thank you for this. I bought two micros. One for myself and one for my son. The church where I play uses faded lights and fluorescent lights. Major buzz causers for single coil pickups. One bass had absolutely no buzz. The other buzzed loudly. I will check for the bridge ground. Appreciate the input!
