Dang, there must have been a ton of different basses in the Roadstar II series. I don't have a pic yet, but mine's a P-bass copy with the Fender-ish headstock Rick C's has.

I hate to be the voice of dissension, but I owned an RB850 several years ago, and while it's a fine bass, it didn't hold a candle to most of my herd and rarely got played. Still, for $200 I sometimes regret selling it. Of course, I think my SX bass is crap, so what do I know.

I have owned 2 early 80's Ibanez Musician neck-thru basses, still have one that will never leave me. If their bolt-on brothers (Roadstars) are 1/2 as well built, they're a steal at what I've seen 'em sell for on ebay.

Got this for a swap - had no tuners - replaced those, gigged it BEAD for a while, played lovely. Just a bit too 'zingy' for me, so I moved it on.

Nice bass, though.

I have a black '86 RB850. My first bass actually. I had it defretted in the early 90's. It has 2 humbuckers ( pole pieces are enclosed) a volume, blend and active tone control.Great bass!

The headstock on mine is Fender'ish, but it's also kinda Tbirdy if you know what I mean. In fact, the shape/size/feel of the neck is *very* much like my '66 non-reverse.
