I think you've answered your own question!

It will not matter how sweet that SR500 feels and how versatile it sounds and how nice it looks. If the Fender JB is your dream bass, you will NOT stop thinking about one until you have one in your possession! So save yourself the grief and save up for your dream bass!!

(Of course the flip side to that is you get the JB and realize it isn't all it's cracked up to be... to YOU that is.)

actually i had been looking at the yamahabb414...only online tho.

i cant find any place around that actually stocks them.
so i havent been able to get my hands on one to check it out

That's also a very nice bass. A bit on the large and hefty side if I recall (compared to an SR500) but good sounding and great looking (I'd still go with the SR500 personally though ).
