Ibanez SR 690?

Hello folks I just bought an ibanez SR 690 (Serial # starts with F99, so i think that means its a 1999 made in japan)

Does anyone know anything about this particular model? It has an Accucast B-20 bridge with DXP/DXJ pickups, and a vari-mid circuit.

Thanks

I have one. How did you find out what model it was? I posted in the Ibanez club, that was how I found out what it was. I want to take the neck off to confirm but haven't yet. I cant find much on this bass either.

Yes...year 1999.

I took the neck off. it says SR-690 on the body and the neck. I looked very closely at the american/european ibanez catalogs for 1999 and didn't see anything like it. It is almost like an SR400 with the pickup choice, but like an SR800 with the Accu-cast bridge and Mid Sweep circuit.....So I can't say.

I think you are right. Ive done a bit of research, and ibanez was fond of making special factory runs for specific dealers.....Anyone know of any other ibanez models that were special runs? It's kind of interesting if you ask me...

The SR-690 appears to have been MIJ - according to some Internet sources.

SRX2EX1 - Black body w/ White binding (Guitar Center or MF)
SRX2EX2 - White body w/ Black binding (Guitar Center or MF)

Anyone know if the SRX3EXQM1 was also a special run?

Hello! Just read through this trying to find the model number of a SDGR for a buyer. Took the advice given, it's an SR710 from '99 also. This has been confusing me for years! I'm about to sell it for peanuts.
