Ibanez SR300 Pickup Replacement Help.

Hey guys, ive been searching the web and forums for abit now and cant seem to find specific information reguarding swapping out the EXF's that have come with this bass. The pups themselves are fine, but lack some low end which is what im wanting to improve.

This is were i need the help, the dimensions of the EXFs are 35mm (1 3/8in) x 108mm (4 1/4in). They seem to be an odd ball shape and all I can find that come near are pups for 5 string basses, is it ok to go with these on my 4er?

Also any recommendations on pup choice? Have maybe a mid-range budget.

Thanks for any help guys.

Everyone need to know what kind of sound change your looking for that you cant get with the stock pups. No real responces of value can be given otherwise. Personally I found the stock pups excellent once adjusted to taste for heights and once one plays around with the onboard eq esp the style sweeper settings.

Try boosting at 40hz a bit. For attack, use faster attack time on your compressor. Yes the preamps output is lower then some, when I had one, Id program some banks on my processor for higher output level from the comp section to compensate for that. But switching to something like the emg bqc control 3band with sweepable mids might be worth concidering for higher output.
