Hi everyone, I am new here at this forum and I am thinking about taking up bass. I saw an add for this Ibanez SR300B. Does anyone know of this bass or has played on it? The advise will be greatly appreciated. Also it is priced at $250.

Thanks in advance.

Welcome, the Ibanez sr300 is the lowest model in the Soundgear (SR) line. They are a decent beginner bass. I have played one briefly and they have fast thin necks and sound good enough to start with. At $250 it's not a bad deal depending on where you are and what's available used. I believe they start at $350 brand new. Hope that helps.

I don't think you can go wrong with that as a starter. Did you play it yet? See how it feels for you. I love the thin neck of the Ibanez SR's, but some people like playing a baseball bat with strings. I don't mean that in a bad way, just that the fatter necks feel like a baseball bat to me. Others love a fatter neck and can't squeeze into a thin neck. If you notice anything from these threads, is that everyone is different. An what is right for you - is right for you.
