I always laugh when I see bands playing the cheapest gear possible, yet they absolute kill. Ever seen Femi Kuti live? The main bass player plays some sort of $200 Cort, yet the guy sounds like his playing a $7000 Fodera.

I see no reason to laugh. The guy just saved $6800

I have an Ibby SR500 and it sounds great. Now if the drummer didn't like my bass and wanted to buy me a Fender Highway 1 Jazz I'd let him. Heck, throw in an Ampeg 4X10 stack too.

i've had several SG basses over the decades ... they're probably the best bass for the buck ..!!
I think i'd look up a few hundred really expensive drum parts and just mess with the guy until he can't count anymore ....!!!

I´ve had different models of soundgears and they all rock. The variety of tones you can get out of them is amazing!!! So, shut the snob up and play your guts off!!!
