Ibanez SR7VIISC (7 String)

I just stumbled across this while trying to identify another Ibanez bass and would love to give it a test drive. The downside is that I don't think it's offered in the U.S.A. but only in Japan or perhaps the Asian market. I'd imagine it sounds good and for a 7 string and probably has a nice slim neck for a 7.

there was a thread about this a while ago. there were videos int he thread of some1 playing it. i looked through youtube and oculnt find anything tho. its a guitar/bass hybrid, really tight spacing. you can turn the bridge picup from humbucker to single coil.. i forget what else you can do wiht it.

Pretty neat take on the tick tack bass... but for $2k there are MUCH better choices to consider.

Make that exact bass in the sub $1k range and I'd consider buying one.

lol. they couldn't afford me. and yeah, it's more like a shortscale bass for guitarist - very tight spacing- than a real bass.

I saw it at the show, it's tiny. Looked to me like it was meant to be played with a pick. Fans of Meshuggah's guitarists should love it. Bass players have better options, though.

because contrary to popular thoughts on the interwebz... scale length is but a SMALL part of tension / playability of an instrument. My 6 and 7 both are 34" and are strung with .118 low B strings.
