Ibanez SRFF805 or save up for a Dingwall

I can get a killer deal on the Ibanez or I would have to wait until at least tax time for the Dingwall. Or are there options for Fanned Fret basses I should be looking at that I don't know of. In not the Ibanez then reasoning behind the no response

Thanks in advance

I'd say there are quite a few options out there for fanned frets these days but I'm a Dingwall addict.
I've tried the ibby, schector, Ltd, many dingwalls, a prometeus...

I'd say save for a Dingwall myself. Canadian if you can.

I bet the Keisel blasius or mayones are pretty sweet but......

Dingwall. All the way.

So, I was in just this situation a few months ago, except I was looking for a 6 string.

Long story short... found an SRFF806 and an ABZ 6/3 hanging next to each other in the same shop.

I played the SRFF for about a minute before my left hand cramped up. The sound was OK I guess, but I've heard and played better SRs.

I shook it out, switched to the Dingwall, and played for about half an hour... but I'd fallen in love with the sound inside two notes. And I went back a couple of days later and bought it, despite it being twice the price and not intending to buy a bass on that trip.

There's something WRONG about the neck shape and fan on the SRFF, whereas Dingwalls seem to be perfect.

This is the one I bought, glorious bass:

Yes. Glorious indeed. Right choice. No question.

That’s a great story. So true that when you have the right instrument it speaks to you and you know it.
