Ibanez/Warwick Shootout for metal

Visited the super mega metal bass sticky and I've narrowed it between 2 6 string actve basses: Ibanez BTB676 or a Warwick Corvette 6 string (probably a used pro series one). My upper price limit is low, probably around $1000, so please consider that. I like bright, harsh clunky tones kinda like Nolly's one from the Make Total Destroy video (look it up!). I'm currently leaning towards the Ibanez because of its price and tonal options, however I know that Warwick has those exotic woods going for them. I'm just not ready to fork over that kind of cash. Thanks!

Yeah, I have picked up a Warwick rockbass in a store. Fat necks, very substantial basses. I've also picked up some Ibby SRs but I know those are totally different. I'm gonna have to go check out some more. I don't care about neck size/radius, it's really just how fast it is and how I feel on it. I care more about string spacing than anything else.

Ive found the BTBs to be VERY comfy neck wise. Easy to play for sure. When i had a warwick a while back, i could tell it was like a speed bump on my playing. Every btb ive picked up has felt very nice.

How's the tone on the BTBs? Can they be nice for getting that kind of aggressive, growly tone? I like Justin Chancellor and Nolly's tones, now I know they're different, but I mean to ask if it distorts nicely like them?

you ought to consider Ibanez's 7 string BTB. i played one the other day and was extremely impressed. different pickups than the 6/5/4 string models, and to me they sound better. i would say it was a cut above any other BTB i've played. too many strings for me unfortunately, but you already play 6 - what's one more?? :D
