Double Bass ID These Strings, Please

I'm pretty sure D'Adarrio Helicore, but I'm not sure which ones. (I did try looking at some id-these-strings web pages and confess to be thoroughly confused with multiple things looking the same.)

And one more question - I have a number of 1/4 size basses here that I rent out to students. Is there any length standard that I could apply to these? I ask because I'm not sure if they're 3/4 size or 1/4 size, and I have yet to unroll what you see in the pictures. And I ask because I assume what you can see in the pictures won't uniquely identify these strings' length.

Might be D'Addario Helicore?!?! But I'm not sure about... The colour of the wrapping on the ball end is a little irritating....I remember this "Blue" a little brighter....

Tell me why they look trashed to you - I was thinking about them for a bass I rent to students. (Just found them here, don't remember anything about how they were previously used or even if I bought them used and then never put them on anything.)

The Orchestra are the only ones I ever buy because, as others have said before, they seem to do everything well and arguably better than the Hybrid or Pizz Helicore's do.

That set looks like it's been on and off multiple basses over multiple years, and I'd never describe D'Addario products as hardwearing. Give them a shot on the rental. They'll be better than no strings at all.

Thanks. The last set of found strings here I sold for $1 plus shipping. I think that's what I'll do with these also - always like to see things reused before sending them to a landfill.

So you or anyone else, repeating part of my earlier question, is there a way for me to determine whether these are for 1/4 or 3/4 size bass?

Measure the length between the silks. If you need help, call D'Addario. They were quite nice to me.

If you put the strings besides a bass you know is 3/4 size, it should be obvious if they're 1/4 or 3/4.
