ID this Ibanez for me please...

I picked up this Ibanez 4 string SDGR. Im not an Ibanez guy so I have no idea what model it is. Plays great. Low action,great sound and very comfortable.

Looks like an sr500 but a custom built one, dont recognize the maker of the pickups.

I concur that it is a SR500, looks like a fairly early one? They all said "Custom Made" back then. I have seen a good number of Ibanez basses of this model from Japan, and I believe they all said that on the last fret. Prolly mid 90's.

It might be an SR800. Those were the pickups that came in them at the time as well.

Then it's a decent bass Seriously, if you've already purchased it and you like it, that's all that matters.

But if you want to try to find the exact model number, Ibanez has all their catalogs going back to 1965 on their site, could help narrow it down.

No it's not. The SR500 you're referring to didn't exist until 2006, and wasn't made in Japan.

No they didn't; not all of them.

Yes, that's correct. I believe the bass is an SR1300PM; but the catalog shows it as having a padauk front & back with a mahogany core, while yours looks like it's just mahogany. The SR1000OL from that year has a solid mahogany body and the 'Custom" inlay, but the knobs are oriented differently, and the hardware is gold.

Why go by what people on the internet say, regarding if it's a good bass or not?

You like it, you like the feel, you like the sound. Would someone on the internet saying it's crap make you want to sell it?

Check the Ibanez SR1010SOL Made in 96 or 97.

Some people straight hate on Ibanez, I personally love them and play them primarily, and that bass looks sweet as hell. If it was a 5 I'd ask if you wanted to trade for my Carvin

THe 1010SOL in the Ibnez Register has the wrong bridge, and wrong pickups. But, the one in the '97 catalog looks like the best match yet. Good call, Tsunami!

Awesome....I'm pretty excited about this Bass. My brother in law had it in his collection on the wall. I pulled it down and started playing it. I was totally shocked and told him I loved it. He said "take it". So I did. Great guy!!!!!!

Did you knew that fujigen makes their own guitars apart from bc rich and ibanez?
