Hello :D

Can you please help me figure out what this bass is?

John Campbell playing for Lamb of God.

Thanks!

I was checking out their live shows since I listen to them and they will be playing close to me soon, so I wanna go. Saw the bass, didn't know what it was, so I asked!

Thank you.
And so I answered. ;)

Glad I could help!

I've been looking at the non-signature versions of these as I've been on a bit of a sorta Thunderbird-but-not-Thunderbird kick lately.

Hope you get a good seat at the concert!

The overall shape reminded me of a dingwall super P/J but the puppies didn't match. Then I thought Warwick Idolmaker but the headstock and other details didn't match either, so... Yeah.

Thank you, again.
Looks like it's some custom version that the guy is playing, tho.

Yeah, looks like his signature model, which I added to my post.

Might be an ESP Custom shop version of his cheaper LTD Signature Model, but it looks almost identical to the ESP LTD model that was already linked in the thread.

Also, you might need an eye exam or a bigger screen because the bass in that video looks nothing like a Super P/J (which are shaped like a Fender P or J).

:roflmao:
Relax a little. I'm wearing glasses and looking at a bad quality recording on my phone, my good pink dingwall enthusiasist :)

It's your basic surface deep shape association, nothing more - nothing less. My question has been answered and I am happy once more :bassist:

There is a Dingwall model shaped like a T Bird. One of the best takes on the design I've seen. The name escapes me however.

I wanted one of these for a long time. Finally got to play one and it didn't quite suit me. I was very disappointed. I've had some LTDs and I'm a fan but I didn't like the neck profile, the balance was odd, and it didn't sound too good to me. If you look up some of the custom streams they've built though OMG they're works of art.

It could even be the cheaper model. You might be surprised how many players take various Asian import or MIM Fender versions vs. more expensive instruments on the road.

I remember Ian Hill in a Premier Guitar Rig Rundown about his Spector signature models and how he loved his Euro version, but took a pair of imports on tour.

Just saw them a few months back with Megadeth, should be a fun show if you go. Started my metal journey learning Lamb of God songs with my fingers, I still don’t think I’ll ever be able to play Grace with my fingers or as clean as he does with a pick.
