Al Cisneros on bass and Chris Hakius on drums. Because OM rocks. Too bad Chris left.

It already existed: Al Jackson Jr. and Duck Dunn. No flash, but pocket for weeks and weeks.
john paul jones/john bonham and john enwitsle/keith moon were great
A big +1 to this!
I'm not sure who I'd pair him with though... I'll get back to ya!![]()
ideal for what?
i.e., some of my favorite (once extant) rhythm sections are Paul Jackson/Mike Clarke, and Jeff Berlin/Bill Bruford... but I can't imagine either of them being "ideal" at what the other excelled at. I guess if "ideal" means "capable of excelling equally well at anything" I'd have to say Will Lee/Steve Gadd. But that's almost playing it safe. I think a more compelling survey would be Most Magical Rhythm Section.
What I mean is, "if you could throw together what you consider to be the ultimate rhythm section, who would be in it?"
