Double Bass Identification please

Can somebody give me more info on this bass? Only thing I know is that it stood in somebody's living room for 25+ years as decoration, and I think it to be a German/Bohemian or Eastern-European massive bass, but it doesn't have a label on the inside, so I really can't say. One thing that also struck me is that the soundpost is slightly octoganolly shaped in stead of cyrindically. It does sound good.
Here are some pictures:

Fretboard: I think it is rosewood (because of its darkbrown, almost black colour, and the grain that is visible), and not ebony, but if someone can shed a light?

That bass appears to be a Musima. They were made in East Germany. The give away is the 1/4 round outside linings, with the top and back plates cut flush with the linings. They were also sold in the U.S. under the Meisel and Eberle brands. I believe that the fingerboard really is ebony that is not quite as dark as one might expect. I have a '94 Laminated Meisel with an ebony board and I don't think that they would have put a non-ebony board on your carved bass. Your octagonal sound post is probably a replacement post. These are decent basses.

And to think I got the price down by claiming it is not an ebony fingerboard... :sorry:
Reading up a bit on the Musima's, I think I got an overall good deal on my bass. :)
