Identify this Ibanez

I was at a show not too long ago and the bassist was using the below pictured bass. At very first glance I thought it was a Spector or Warwick, however it's clearly an Ibanez according to the head stock. I liked the tone/sound it was putting out. Anyone know what model it is?

Don't know the model but I believe it's older, similar vintage to my 90's "Bean" Ibby I would guess (similar pickups and headstock).

I played a somewhat similar Roadstar bass once and I loved it! I don't actively seek one out but if I ever crossed paths with one for sale I have a feeling it would follow me home...

I don’t remember it as being heavy. But it certainly was not svelte like the later RB800 and SRs (had those, too).

Don't get me wrong, I really like the modern Ibanez basses like the SR,and the BTB but these roadster basses just nail it.

There was a Roadstar bean bass as well as the Musician version. Great sounding little instruments.

These had basswood bodies if I recall correctly.

Totally agree. Some Beans are bolt-ons, but the really great sounding ones are thru-bodies. Hey -- I generally favor bolt-ons over thru-bodies, but there is no comparison in the two different types of construction on the Beans. Dang, those neck-thrus sound SWEET!!!
