Identifying my Fender Bass

Like I said....pull of the neck and check for numbers. You can also take off the pickguard and check it as well. May be a Fender neck on another body. For some reason the knobs are looking off to me but I could be mistaken.

I see, I also bought it a bit cheaper than what's on the internet though I assume it's fake but I'll take a look at the neck though as canadian man said.

Can I replace the pups on this one so it sounds good even though it's fake?

Looks like an SX to me.... (with Fender sticker)

Search this forum for SX or Essex and you'll find lots of amazing things people have done to these basses.

I sure hope that you didn't pay anymore than what a Squier P is going for. Some of these fakes use plywood bodies, you should be able a tell once you start pulling parts out.

In any case, YES, you can replace the pickups and probably get an improvement in tone.
