If I create a Namm thread, will pictures magically populate?

Met a few other really nice bass players today too:

I am extremely bummed about @wintremute 's absence, I enjoyed hanging with him last year and was looking forward to hanging again this year.

It really, really sucks. Miss you guys. Since I'm not there to save everyone, please don't get arrested.

This is interesting to read and also not restricted to music.

As someone who regularly attends trade shows in the medical space, it was interesting to see certain companies not attend this years AACC conference (also held in Anaheim, I stayed at that Hilton attached).

Plenty of MASSIVE vendors chose not to attend this past year, and have insinuated they won’t again. Even the largest players in molecular diagnostics, which is my expertise, skipped the largest molecular show of the year.

All that said, most of this has to do with cost control and what the vendors stand to gain. Many of these vendors skipped because they were consolidating lines and restricting offerings. I guess they figured they didn’t need to spend north of $300-400k to market that. I’m wondering if Fender/Gibson are taking notes from the same page.

It’s similar with auto shows, at least those outside NYC and a couple of others. The Philadelphia metro area is a huge market, and yet several major manufacturers have blown off the Philly show for the past couple of years. BMW is just one example. So, even though I’m in the market for a new car, have been a car enthusiast since childhood, and can easily walk to the show, I didn’t bother this year.

Who can give us the breakdown on what was hot or not at NAMM 2024 for bassists?
Other than the new Tech 21 bass preamp pedal, and ZOOM updated multi-fx stomps (of which there was very little press), was there anything else noteworthy? Who here went that can weigh in? Thanks!
maybe someone in this thread? Sushi box showed some cool stuff on page 3
