If you build it thay will come

There's nothing wrong with your photo skills!

AHH, shucks! .:p. maybe a new camera would help, the only one I have (besides my phone, which is worse) is about 15 years old and maxes out at 3.2 mega pixels... HA,HA, that's so sad, HA...

That's a strange shape, but in a good way. It almost looks like its alive.

THAT, is one of the best compliments ever Hopkins, Thank you very much! :D

Great build, I'm going to check out a few more of your builds... I'm meant to be revising for an exam but hey ho :bassist:
Someone has probably already picked up on this but has anyone else noticed there's a heart on the upper wing, near the bridge on the front side?? They must call is heart-wood for a reason. Sorry shameful pun.
Peace.

That thing is dead sexy, very organic and natural seeming form.

Nicely done!

wraub

Thanks Wraub, I’ve always had a thing for the flow of old world Victorian scroll work. Which probable explains a bit.

Wow! Andrew, that bass is very very nice. Unusual, cool design and perfect wood combination. Well done!

Thanks Maurizio! I’m no stranger to unusual, HA, :D I thought the wood combo gave a classic touch to the bass.

“Unusual shape” is something I hear a lot with this model, so I thought I’d throw this pic out there so everyone could see where the body form inspiration came from.

Not to sound like a hippie or anything :scowl: (I’m pretty far from one of those) but, nature has the best designs. All of my production instrument body designs are variations of a rose bud. I named this one the "Rose Stem" due to the “thorn like” shape of the lower horn and the hook-back on the top horn. The scroll at the bottom is what I call the “cord curl” It’s intended to run your instrument cable through to keep from pulling it out of the jack accidently.

The three bumps at the butt end of the neck acts as a tripod or foot to prevent the bass from rocking side to side should it ever be set on the floor and leaned to a wall or amp or something.

These are a couple of design futures I came up with from personal experience as well as the stories of things that have happened to others. Just a little more info on Why, the unusual shape.

That is very, very nice, Andrew!!!

Thanks Man!!!

Very cool Andrew, can't wait to see what's next;)

Thanks JC, the next one’s coming, First I have to clean the shop, HA, :smug:

Thanks for checking out my build, I’ll be happy to have you along with the next one. I guess you can say/see I put my heart into my work, HA,HA,HA…

Beautiful! That's gotta be the best head stock design I've ever seen.

Glad you like it! I can’t take too much credit for the head stock; it’s just my variation of a CT

So clean and beautiful... awesome work.....

Thank you, I really appreciate the feedback.
