No love for Dave Lombardo? Talkbass needs more devil worshippers.
So, my vote is Lombardo or if he's unavailable that dude that plays with Santana in the Woodstock documentary. He freaking wails or wailed like 40 years ago...and he has to bring 2 of whatever he was on

Indeed. Hellhammer all the way.
The drummer from my first band, played for over 5 years with him and then he joined the Air Force. Glad he is serving his country, but maaaan do I miss playing with him. The other guys are amazing drummers, but our rhythm section just had chemistry

This prompted me to look at Vinnie's website where I saw he played with Brian Bromberg on:
"Brian Bromberg Plays Jimi Hendrix"
Apparently import only from Japan. I'd sure love to hear some clips of that one!!
There is one single review of it on Amazon and the reviewer complements Vinnie's drumming!

I'm a little surprised to see all the Ringo responses. I'm not saying that he's not iconic nor putting him down, but, well, I don't know. I guess I'd be just as surprised to see Meg White. To each his own.

I like to jam a bit with Dennis Chambers and maybe Alan White.
Actually White lives in my area and so that's not really too far-fetched of a possibility.
I'd love to just listen to Mike Clark. I don't have the ability to play with him, so I'd just hang back and listen.
