Only thing I would change is I would have gotten a peavey power amp in the 1KWrms+ range.
My 700 watt Peavey Firebass 700 II just isn't quite enough to push my Peavey 810tvx and Peavey 215D-BW to their full potential.

My local Peavey guy, where I spend most of my money, has a new Peavey 8x10 and Max 750 head. It is a VERY sweet sounding rig. I am trying to sell my Mesa Boogie head/cab to finance a Peavey bass rig of some kind, and I offered to trade him today, straight up. He wouldn't go fer it, but did offer to sell it for me and said it would likely cover most of the cost of a new Peavey stack.

I dunno how I would carry it around though. It ain't gonna fit my Nissan Altima. I think a TNT combo with a 210TX extension cab would be more my speed, or the Max 450 with a 4x10. I need to check the backseat clearance for a 4 x10.

When I first discovered TB a couple of years ago, I had an SVTCL and 610HLF and (thought) I was happy with what I had. (damn TB!)

After checking out about every major preamp/amp combination (and the CA9 was the *clear* winner in that) as well as Epi, Schro & Berg cabs, I ended up with a '69 SVT and a Berg NV610 + NV215. Amazingly close to where I started.

A do-over? I'd be more careful with my spine, so it would be healthy enough to haul a Bergantino NV610. I sold that cab in favor of Epifani Ultralights... which are nice cabs for what they are, but no substitute for a Bergie NV.

The Biggest +1 I have ever given here or anywhere else! LOL! Ain't that the truth! I wouldn't mind going back about 20 years and doing it all again! I'd do it just a little slower this time! In all seriousness though I can't tell you how many times I have said "I got it" in my life when I should have let somebody help me carry something... 2 Hip replacements later and an ongoing battle with a degenerative bone disease and I can tell you I wish I would have let someone else help! Take heed guys...being macho is the same thing as being stupid in this regard! Get somebody to help you!
