If you had an SVT3PRO & 1000$

If you had an SVT3PRO head {450watts} and up to 1000$, what cab/cabs would you pair with it with?

This is my delima. I'm thinking an ampeg svt410hlf or an svt610hlf.

Doesn't have to be just ampeg. I'd love to hear everyone's opinion.

$1000 is pretty wide open. I guess it depends on what kind of sound you're going after.

You could find a used SVT 410HE for less than half that price, and spend the rest on hookers and blow :hyper:

But out of the two examples you listed (I'm a big ampeg fan), I'd probably go with the 610HLF. My own choice would be an SVT 810e.

Those ampeg 210s with the coaxial speakers are neat. I live my ampeg 1528 (15 and 2x8s). I've been pretty jazzed on the idea of 2 115s both with tweeters. If you go used you could probably get a couple setups. For a grand I got my Swr goliath 3, goliath Jr 3, and son of bertha. Now I want another son of bertha...

I just need to be loud enough to hear myself over my loud ass drummer. Seriously, I didn't even know drums could be so darn obnoxious..

But we play bars big and small. I'm thinking the svt 610hlf. I've played through a svt410hlf and loved it.

I want the cab to have a little more power handling than my amp though.

My 3 pro sounds good with every cabinet I've tried it with. It's pretty versatile. The svt410hlf, svt610hlf or 810 paired with the 3pro would do do the job. Weight-wise and price-wise there's not a huge difference between them. I think it's going to come down to the tone you're looking for. I run mine with 2 Bill Fitzmaurice Jack 12s.

If you want that sound, get the 410hlf. It's a unique sound from the others. They all sound great, but only the 410hlf goes as low as the 410hlf. And go heritage if you can swing it. I've played both side by side and the Heritage is a definite improvement for a measley extra hundy.

But I want the extra volume from the 610hlf. You thing the difference in tone/ sound would be noticeable from the heritage 410hlf?

I used Mesa Boogie 115 and 210 EV cabs with my 3PRO. Sounded so good I played that rig for nearly 10 years and it is totally to blame for my bad back. These days I can only carry neo cabs.

If this was me, I'd soon have an Ampeg SVT3 Pro, a used Ampeg 4x10 of some kind and $600-$700 left over. If so inclined I'd bet that you can even find a beat-up Ampeg 8x10 for $400-$600.

Do you love your Ampeg SVT3 Pro's sound and does it have enough power? I've seen Ampeg SVT Classics for sale on Craigslist for under $1000 so JBNeedsBeer has a great suggestion too.
