if you had to pick... bridge or neck pickup?

soo before you put it the p pickup on the left bass what did it sound like cuz my current build is a fretless jazz similar to that one

I added the P pickup for some extra versatility, but I mainly just play on the soloed bridge pickup.

It sounds like any other fretless Jazz bass with the bridge pickup soloed, nothing special about it.

What does yours sound like?
 
I used to really be into the heavily emphasized, or solo'ed bridge pup trip. I felt I needed it in order to get a quick, punchy sound but eventually decided I sounded a bit too much like many of the Jaco clones out there. Many years and many basses later I am firmly in the P bass camp, with a quick, punchy sound, so my answer is neither. I like the sound of a Jazz with both pups equal but don't like either solo'ed.
