If you have a 1990's Ampeg 810...

Won't have much time to do stuff tonight. My main comp crashed bigtime and I have to reinstall everything, so that will be my focus tonight.
Looks like it............. I missed that, pics and all......... oh well.
We have a '96, in Jimmy's sweet spot of time, with a 10324 type, and a 451010-1 number
Then we have a later 2005 unit with 451041-10 number, no type number given. Looks like could be same company, but may be a different cone number. but I'm not 'up" on the cone numbers.

Naw Jerrold, sorry the later speakers are type 10324A..... We have the number.
So Jimmy's golden speakers are the 10324... The heavy duty 100 watters are the 10324A.
Now I have to pull a speaker out of the 810 where I swapped speakers, my guess is they were 10324's... SO we could actually get a date range. I believe my original 810EN cab was a 2000-01-02... I will have to find the plate and get serial and pull a speaker from the 810E I transfered the drivers too.

I retired this week, and got the new guy going, we're both on this project the call came at 7:10AM, Jimmy knows what the world looks like at 7:10 AM... Dark and gloomy.

Well ... I received the speakers I ordered, I pulled the speakers our of the cabinet and here's what on the drivers: 86-032-01 Then 10324, Then 67-95290702 ...what's printed on the speaker cone is 451010-1, and below it is 265 , I'll start a new thread in the switching out the Eminence drivers to the Jensen Mods, as not to clutter this thread
So it's the cone and not merely the high power?

Could be, and as expected if so.
That last one looks like a 1995 product, and it has the same numbers as WVbass' unit.

If only I could have taken these skills like being able to hear the difference between cones and perfect pitch and being an all around musical genius and figured out how to make money I did, however get another song played on the Howard Stern show Wednesday morning. Wrote and recorded it in an hour Tuesday night after my gig, sent them an MP3, and it was on the next show!

I am now firmly convinced that the earlier 810e's are WAY WAY better sounding than the ones since around the turn of the millenium.
I brought my 69 SVT/810 and I played my upright and electric out of both. I was shocked at how similar the tones were.
The CL rig was only slightly less ass-kicking than my rig. It was real SVT tone with 5k just like mine.
Naturally I couldn't pull it apart and look at the drivers, but I imagine it had the 86-032-01's. Huge difference in tone with the earlier ones. As Paris Hiton would say, HUUUUUUUUUGE!

With my net nanny at work, I can't get to the online version of WINIsd but it would be interesting to note what the predicted low end response is for that driver in a 1 cu. ft. enclosure (essentially 1/8th of an 8x10).

OK...here's what ISD online shows for the predicted response of an SVT-810. Sure sounds better than it looks (if one believes that we need response down to 30 or 40 Hz as the -3dB point is about 65 Hz)...
