If you were in an almost worst-possible-situation horror situation...

If the world had gone to hell.. you are at a small town at a crossroads, and the only way out is through either a road through a series of towns and cities..:

1) ..that have been devastated by zombies. You don't know what kind of zombies they are, they could be the slow "Land Of The Living Dead" type zombies or they could be fast "Dawn Of The Dead" remake types. You know there's many but you don't know how many or how widespread.

2) ..that have been devastated by vampires. You don't know what kind of vampires they are either, and exactly what kind of vulnerabilities they have (ie. the kind that is weak in the presence of garlic and holy water, or the kind that considers them a mere irritant or not at all a problem). The vampires are considerably less in number but again, you don't know how many or whether they are working collectively. Another point to think about is that vampires are intelligent creatures.

3) ..devastated by werewolves. Again, considerably fewer in number than the zombies but being semi-intelligent savage creatures, you don't know how many there are, or how many they've intentionally or inadvertantly converted.

4) ..devastated by an unknown factor..

Which road would you take?

The small town you are currently located had been the last post of a small band of survivors (there's approximately 20 of you, most of whom are tough and proven survivors) and had been well-stocked with food and all kinds of weapons potentially effective against either of the creatures mentioned. But there's only enough food and resources (ie. petrol, batteries etc) and ammunition to last another couple of weeks. The journey could take a few weeks or a few months.

There is no guarantee that the vehicles and petrol you have left will be able to last you the journey and it is very likely that you will have to find and change vehicles as you go.

There is also limited ammunition that you can carry, and since you are not sure exactly sure what you'll come up against, or whether you'll be able to find more ammo along the way, it is essential that you have to bring non-firearm weaponry to fall back on once the ammo runs out or for non-critical situations. It is presumed the survivors in the other cities have used most of what's left of the ammo anyway.

And there is no way you can carry weapons effective against the whole range of creatures, you have to select specific weapons.

There is a 90% chance that where you're heading is a self-sustaining and thriving mega-city at the end of this journey that has effectively barricaded itself, keeping the evil hordes at bay. You just need to survive the journey to find this mega-city.

So which road will you take and what would you bring with you?

i'd choose garlic, make a paste out of it and rub it on at much of my body as i could (concentrating on the main areas - neck, arms etc.) as even if the smell doesn't bother them garlic still burns vampires mouths, and even if they still try to bite m at least itl give SOME paybac,. a stake and a tranq gun with 19 bullets in it.

shoot the other 19, haul them into the truck, drive into town and push one out every so often to distract the vampires, as live meat is nicer for them, when i ran out of people i'd hide out in a building untill sunrise (vampires cannot enter a building without permission) and then run as far as i could during the day, and then before the sun went down hide out in another building, feeding on scraps of dead people lying around (yeah its cannibalism but its hell) and so on ans so forth untill i was out.

EDIT: the stake is for the few ancient vampires who can come out during the day.
