If you're looking for an inexpensive 5-string...

I just bought one on TB for $215 new. It will be here soon. I will immediately throw on a set of Ernie Ball flats and let my tech set it up. The stock pups on my Affinity Jazz 5 sound better to me than the US. Fender ones in a different bass. Fatter. I play thump exclusively and you can believe I will get it out of a P bass. I'm hoping the pups in the Squier Precision V will also be fat enough. If they ain't we'll just have to do something about that.

I have been watching these on Sweetwater for some time now. I have two 5 string jazz basses, one American Deluxe, the other Squier Affinity. On top of that, my usual go to is a Reverend 5L, which plays and sounds like a passive jazz. With all that jazz tone floating around here, I felt the need (GAS) to add a different configuration to my stable. I use the Affinity jazz as a backup and I have been very happy with it, so I figured I'd give a VM precision a go, given all the positive things I have been reading about them.

I haven't added to my arsenal in quite a while and actually sold off some gear not too long ago, so I went ahead and ordered one. I'll have to wait for them to come back in stock, but I wanted to make sure I got an order in to get one sooner rather than later.

I ordered a 5 string burst model and am looking forward to giving it a shot with the blues band when it gets here.
