I'm a Steve Harris fan but geeeezzzz!

I don't see how a custom paint job and a few upgrades anyone could do justifye the bass being worth so much?

I dunno, I like Maiden just as much as the next metal guy but can't support something like that. [edit: Unless Steve was to sign it and the proceeds went to a charity, then I could... but for personal gain... no way]

Peace

A good paint job like this can cost easily 1000 bucks. I know, this is lame

There's not a bigger Steve Harris fan on this board than I am, but that bass is fugly. It's also, as mentioned, got the wrong strings on it. If you are going to ask that much for a bass like that you really need to start with the correct model, but you'd probably lower the price of a 50s Precision by modifying it.

Meh, the guy wasn't a fan until Maiden's last good album. He's a paint job or two late IMO.

Probably more than a quarter....a mint condition Harris signature p just sold for 1600 bucks. Beware of advertisers who talk too much in their ads. Look at this guy's other stuff for sale. Each ad reads like a friggin book. I am always skeptical about never ending ads where three or four different colored fonts are used. I'll betcha the bass was made in Japan.

This bass is cool, but I have a philosophy about custom ANYTHING. The mods only add value for the individual who comissions them. As far as I am concerned, this bass is worth no more than any other modded ( devalued ) MIJ P-Bass. About $300 ~ $400. As others have stated, if Harris were involved in it somehow, that would add significant value as a Maiden collectible. As it is, it could be pink with a huge black dot on it and be worth no less.

I gotta respectfully disagree with you on that one. To a diehard Maiden fan, especially one who plays bass, this is a rare find because it's pretty much an exact replica of what Harris plays now (cept for the country and year of manufacture of the bass). I can see this bass selling for anywhere from 1000 to 1500, again to someone who is a Maiden freak. Will it sell for 3 grand though??.....I doubt it unless someone has more money than brains.
