Im a Tech 21/Sansamp nut, but need a power amp

Ok so right now im in the process of re-building my rig from the ground up. I currently own a Sansamp RBI and the VT Bass Pedal. I will be gettin the Sansamp RPM preamp soon as well. I am going to run the RBI into the RPM and then have the VT bass pedal in the effects loop somewhere. I know already that the VT Bass pedal may be overkill but who knows. :bassist:

I will also be using two avatar 2x12's stacked. So my question is...
What would be an optimal power amp for this set up? I love love love Tech21/Sansamp but their Landmark 300 just doesn't have enough headroom and their power amps aren't much better at all(one is like 300 watts and the other is like a two channel 200 watt per side power amp); The Landmark 600 is nowhere to be found (still not enough headroom though IMO). So yeah, any suggetions on power amps that are affordable? Thanks a million guys.

You shouldn't have too much trouble finding maybe a 1,400-1,600 watt power amp if you look around. Actually, your cabs will probably take a good deal more power than mine, so you might even go a little bigger. The PLX series from QSC is among the more respected brands these days along with Carvin, Mackie, Crest, Crown... I'm sure that these have been discussed around here lately in case you haven't had a go with a search yet.

I play through a pair of SWR Workingman's 2x10 cabs and I run them with an older 1,400 watt QSC which has been great for me. My cabs are only rated at 200 watts RMS, but when playing at healthy volume, nothing is under major strain. I've also run both my cabs (in series as a 4 ohm load) with one side of my power amp. That ran reasonably well, too and it's nice to know that I have that extra power just in case I need to help the band in a pinch and run something else with my other channel.

Compared with the sticker shock you might get with a rather powerful bass head, you ought to be able to find a much more powerful 2nd hand power amp in good shape for a lot less money. If you prefer to look at new gear, you'll probably see a lot of bang for your buck from Carvin.
