I want sumpin' new.

Gots me a Dr. Bass 1580 and a 1260. Stupid nice cabs. But you know, I've had these cabs for all of about 4 months (Hey, that's a long time in dog years!), and the hankerin' and plottin' and GASin' for something new has me by the balls.

I think it'd be fun to go the opposite way of the hi-fi-three-way-thang and get some cabs that are one-way. As in no tweeter. Just woofer. Not lookin' for mud, mind you. Growly yet not clanky. Deep yet articulate.

Tom Bowlus has a favorable review of the little Trace 15 (1513?). And those Bag End cabs seem nice, too. Anything else you guys can think of that might fit the bill?

Yup, the older Trace 1153 or the Orange OBC-115 would definitely scratch this itch, methinks.

Hmm. I don't have experience w/a lot of different cabs, but man, the one I have experienced that might fit that bill is the SWR 12-stack.

SWR Henry 8x8, and turn that crappy piezo tweeter somewhere between off, and removed;)
Seriously.
It kicks major booty.

Old School: Mesa Diesel 115's with the EV speeks are massive, and have way more top end than you'd ever expect a 15 to have.

LDS 2x8+5, or, 4x8+co/ax 8, otherwise known as the 5x8. Very sweet.

And, sell me the 1580;)

Thanks!

You're bored? Got you by the balls, huh? Dog years? Well, you know what a dog does with his when he get's bored dontcha?

I sure miss my SWR 12 Pack, which I sold to make room for my 1580/1260. Those two PAS twelves made some sweet sounds!! Out of production though, so maybe a used one floating around.

Oh yeah.....the dog?....he licks 'em!
Take it from LBWDOG!

I was bored and on my PC late last nite, around 2am trolling MF, Music 123, AMS. When I finally went to bed about 7am, I had just pressed enter on an order of about 8 items worth $168.00 at MF. Checked today, they hurriedly had everything that I ordered as shipped, usually I get "out of stock" emails the next day, this time crap they seemed to have everything I ordered, very rare. Oh well free shipping to me what I dont feel I really need I'll send it back for credit or post here for sale. And no was not even drunk when I ordered, stone sober, tho was quite sleepy. Shoulda went to bed last nite like Im about to now, saves me money. :o Tho I did just cruise the classifieds here just now, bought nothing this time. Enjoy your next purchase, Uh, I think I might.

To be serious - I think : "because you're bored" is asbolutely the worst reason to buy a new amp!

Or maybe I should say - the last thing to put on your list of things to do?

So - you could - learn new tunes, study theory, listen to some type of music you have never done before and try to play it. Transcribe your favourite bass lines, look for bands that need bass players - look for local or nearby jams where you could play - write a tune, write a bass line etc. etc.

The list is endless!!

But at the very end would be : buy a new amp!! :p

I have 2 Wizzy cabs, 1 regular and 1 M-Line. They are small, light and to me sound great. That being said, I too have become afflicted with certain condition that continues to drive me tio aquire more equipment. My new target is the Neo DR.1580 and the DR. Slant 1260. I did consider getting them with Beymas but Marc said they are only available in 8 ohm and I want 4 ohm cabs. Well good luck and have a nice day.

There is just sumptin 'bout a 115.
Both my diesels came with blown drivers.
So, they went on a weight loss plan, and are now filled with 3015's.
They tip in at ~45lbs now, instead of ~62...
