IME, you're not dating up. If she likes you for who you are, then you're right where you should be. Just be yourself and be honest about yourself. Since she's a Dr., she's pretty smart and could be dating another Dr. Since she's dating you, you fulfill her fantasies.
Good luck.
Maybe she was dared to do it.......
Yes friends, it has finally happened. After playing bass for 16 years, and playing professionally for the last 6, I finally had a girl approach me at a show simply because I was a bass player. The story:
Last week, I performed at a benefit show for lukemia and lymphoma research. It was held in this mansion south of San Francisco up in the hills, and it was to be a Halloween party with everyone in costume. About 700 people showed up, and it poured rain the entire time, so most everybody was crammed inside. I brought my fretless Ovation Magnum (which I guess is a sexier bass than my Steinberger XM), and didn't bother with a costume as I was still living out of a suitcase crashing on my friend's couch. I just came as myself. I was playing with this rock/funk band, who weren't bad, and we were doing all original music. About three songs into the set, a woman dressed up as the St. Paulie beer girl comes up to me onstage, leans into my ear and says:
"You are the sexiest thing I have ever seen. Can I give you my number?"
Hot damn! Never, in all my years of playing, has anything like this happened. "Of course", I say, and she writes her number down on the back of a card, hands it to me, and gives me a kiss right in front of god and everybody at the party. Haha! I am, at this point, a golden god.
The story gets better:
I end up hanging out with her after the party, and have been hanging out with her almost every day this week. It turns out that in addition to having great taste in men, she's extremely cool. Smart, funny, engaging, beautiful (she looks like a cross between Uma Thurman and Kate Blanchet), and... get this - she's a doctor.
That's right. Me, a mohawked, pierced up, skinny, geeky, unemployed musician is dating a doctor.
Bow before me. Bow.
She's just trying to piss off her father.
Good luck.
Call me when you graduate from med school.

So the only thing she has over MM is a med school education?
Maybe best not posting pictures of her
(I kid, I kid)

Hopefully, she and her other doctor friends aren't playing the "Who can date the weirdest person" game.![]()

Or she is really 60, with a great plastic surgeon.
