Never mind I just found it. Wow. And just like that my GAS is back.
That’s how easy it happens folks.

I know, I know, I can hear you!
Blasphemy! Sacrilège! He's gone off the deep end! Is he possessed?
No, I'm actually just fine and grinnin' like a villin'.
I bought a new bass this past October. Black Fender Player p-bass with Ebony fingerboard and matching headstock. Before I bought it, I knew I wanted it blacked out. I bought a Badass II Bridge (in black), Badass OGT tuning pegs ( in black), Schaller strap locks (in black), and a replacement pick guard (in black but it doesn't matter because...) I wrapped it in black vinyl carbon fiber. I like to keep the original pick guards original, maybe it's my OCD, I don't know!
Anyways, honestly, I really only want an ashtray for it. I have one laying around the house but I took it off such a long time ago, I have no earthly idea where I stored it.
My GAS list is down to the ashtray and a new strap. I'll post pics of the finished product, sans the ashtray, in a week or so. I don't get her back until next Saturday.

real questions that require responses from experienced career musicians & techs. My OCD needs to know exactly what constitutes the other 1%.
Thanking you,

Ah yes, I have benefited immensely from these; whatever I have learned I owe to this site.real questions that require responses from experienced career musicians & techs.

I went two years without buying a bass. I was perfectly fine with what I have. Then one day I pop on here and someone was talking about which bass to keep. They had two Geddy Lee basses. A Made In and a Crafted In Japan. I have wanted a Japanese Fender for awhile now. And the same for a Geddy Lee Jazz. I wasn't looking for a bass, but the opportunity to kill two birds with one stone was too much to pass up. Keep hanging around here and you'll end up buying another bass when you least expect it.I know, I know, I can hear you!

Not yet. I dropped off the bass with my luthier yesterday. I get it back next Saturday.Do you have any pictures?
I am not outta gas, I'm just outta money.
LolIt's not really possible. Even when you get to the point where you have all that you need. Its not over. Next I started with strings. Its amazing the difference between string types. Then I started with pedals - I completed the pedal board - there's nothing compact about it. Then you see the exotic bass that you've never seen before. Quickly you run downstairs and pick out something comparable out of your "collection" and play it for hours. Some days that works as your GAS-X - some days you'll hit the BUY button.... If you're lucky, you won't start collecting cabs next.
Why practice on what you have, when spending big bucks on new gear will magically make you a better player!?![]()
It will be black or covered with the black carbon fiber vinyl wrap I used on the pickguard.I was just going to say "forget the ashtray UNLESS IT'S BLACK!"![]()
Musicians friendWhere did you find a player precision with ebony fingerboard?
