I have recently commissioned a good friend and luthier to build a custom bass for me. He's having his website revamped soon and I've been helping him out with some pictures of his instruments for the new site.

Here's a preview some of you may find entertaining. These are the raw pictures before any leveling or photoshopping. I think it looks good, already...

  2. The basses are prettier than the girl :) IMHO

Looks like Drozd pickups, Fodera from the back.

Liked the last 5 pics. The rest was too cheesy. Those basses don't need a girl to draw attention.

Beautiful tone, nice curves, an eye for details, solid construction.

    The bass, that is.

  15. I think a couple of you guys are being pretty harsh about the model, though I'm not sure why these pretty basses need any extra ornamentation. I'm not really into singlecuts, but the JB-ish ones are quite nice. I don't like the headstock, especially on the 5-string, partly because I don't buy into that particular B-string theory, but I *love* that logo.

I like the fretboard with the globe on it. That would go well in the corner with my telescope.

I'm not sure how well the Drozd-y pickup design works with that bass shape, but I wouldn't refuse one over it.

Lotsa controls on those. You can probably get nigh-on any tone out of that...

    Tough crowd.

Anyone notice the OP that said the luthier is a good friend? Think maybe the girl in the shots might be, also? Lots of class around here.

Let's e-mail this model pictures of YOU and see how she rates those.

Never insult a woman's appearance. If you do that, you're either heartless or too stupid to know anything about women.

I think the comments about the girl are inappropriate. I will say that she looks to be about 13 years old so that seems a little sick to me.

...and the one in the photo in your profile?

See? Not so cool is it?
