Yes, a lighter weight modern day version of the old Ampeg B-15S Made of Italian Poplar with 2-6550's, a Toroidal Transformer and about 150 watts with a single 15 or 2-12's might be really nice.

FYI, I was referring to roughly the size of the B15(S) with the 15" Altec 421A bottom not the much smaller B15(N) with the 12" cab. The 60 watt head on the B15S was wider, taller and deeper.

The B12N had the 12" cab. B15 = 15" speaker. I could be mistaken, but my impression is that there have been no recent advancements in shrinking all-tube amps or making them lighter, so a 150W head today would be as big and heavy as a 150W head from 40 years ago.

That's not even hard. You could go with a quad of 6550's, KT88's, or a pair of medium power tetrodes like the 80* series. IIRC, there already IS one, but sadly, it appears discontinued. Check Link Removed.

Maybe I'm missing something. That one is 67 lbs and almost 23" wide; IIRC the B15 head was closer to 40 lbs and 17" wide. I should back out though, I'm not an expert on these things.
