My sincerest condolences to the family, friends and fans of fellow Bass guitarist Bob Babbitt. Bob's playing touched the world in such a way that we will be dancing to his bass lines for a very long time! He leaves with us all A Great Legacy/Library of Music...

what can you say? - great bassplayer - great loss- but the great thing about music is that it lives on- the records he made were & still are classics a living testament everytime they're played.

Also his appearance on Motown Night on American Idol. He was mentioned by name (along with Jamerson) and sat on stage accompanying the singer. The clip used to be on YouTube but I can't seem to find it...

I don't know if Randy Jackson's shout out to Bob was planned or spontaneous but either way it was very cool because it was sincere. Randy Jackson knows.
