Hello fellow low-enders!

I've been listening to Jimmy Haslip's playing on Gino Vanelli's "Brother to Brother" and it is absolutely killer. Beautiful. Stunning.

Everyone points out Jimmy's three amazing bass solos on the "Brother to Brother" track; I just want to play an incredible deeper track that features Jimmy 's playing the entire song. It is, and has been for 40+ years now some of the best bass playing I've ever heard.

Listen as a bassist to his lines, his playing, the timing, his note choice throughout.

Gino went against the grain because everybody else was getting into synth bass, the Vanelli’s, who were all synth bass, brought in Jimmy Haslip for Brother to Brother, and it was a brilliant move. To top it off, I think it was their best seller too.
