Beware of the banner ads claiming to give you access to your inbox. These ads are probably being driven by the keywords in the current wave of complaint threads by folks having issues accessing their familiar private messages which are now called conversations.

Do not click on those ads for inboxace, inboxviewer or any ad claiming to help you access your messages. You do not need to download anything to access your messages, they are all right here in "conversations".

This is a terribly unfortunate byproduct of this change, I am sure many members will expose themselves to this nonsense. These ads direct you to download very invasive and malicious scripts that can be debilitating to your computer.

Management, if there is any way you can stop these ads from appearing, do it now!!!

Thanks Paul! Your tireless efforts to adapt during this transition are appreciated. I can see that you guys have already made many changes in response to the initial feedback. Kudos to you and the rest of the team for making the change very efficiently.

Obviously some folks will take some time to adjust to the changes but this is a strong community and that is the heart and soul of this board, the face may have changed but the game is the same!

These ads are so pervasive across the internet, not just here. The ad creators are very clever at making user think that it is part of the site. Any banner ad claiming to make your life easier will almost surely do the exact opposite.

PM's are now called Conversations. Click on your username at the upper right corner of the page and select "Conversations".

If you want to start a conversation with a specific member from an open thread, click their name or avatar and select "Start Conversation" from the dialog box.

You can also access conversations through the Inbox at the upper right.

The banner ad masquerading as the "View New Messages" button is still appearing at the top of the page, right over the list of posts. Ironically, I'm currently seeing it at the top of the Forum Usage Issues page.

Sorry, I just blocked several more URL's that this advertiser is using, and blocked 3 more of their AdWords accounts. Give it about an hour, then if you see any more, if you can let me know the URL that these banners click to, I can block em.

Thanks!
