Incubus's new cd.

You know what's funny about incubus.

they come from my old hometown(s), calabassas and agoura.

Every band that comes out of that area sounds the same

Hoobastank, they came from agoura and oak park(next to agoura, I also lived there) my brother knew them, they used to have a horn section fo' crissakes! but then, they ditched that sound, adopted the incubus sound and made millions.

There is another band, Clear Static, they have a pretty happening sound going, they will likely be millionaires too, I was almost in the band too They recently got a record deal and their first album should be dropping eventually.

Then there is underwood, whose (excellent) bassist posts here on occasion, they are an excellent band, very talented, not really incubus-y, but it's still the type of rock that would likely sell very well to the same people that buy incubus albums.

My friend and I have dubbed the genre "agoura rock" and we plan on making an "agoura rock" band if things aren't looking to good for our careers

I really like the new single. I saw Incubus at Lollapalooza and they did an awsome show. After seeing the video for the new single it brings me back to the good ole' Rage Against the Machine days. Its kind of weird that 10 years later the same **** is happening.

Hey thanks for the new bands to check out. I can see what you mean when you say everyband from there sounds the same. Loosely speaking of this, I didn't know they were from agoura, I thought it was just calabassas. Either way, I might just have to start calling it 'agora rock' myself. Kinda catchy.

im a big incubus fan, and personally i think there new cd will be good, im anxious to see how ben kenney fits in with the group, but check out all the new songs right here, the email said its only good untill 4 oclock today,(Tue, jan 27) so check it out soon i guess.

I'm listening to the new record right now.It sounds like a step forward musically.The single really reminds me of Rush.Anyways,I remember seeing them in 95 at a small club in Costa Mesa called the Lava room.I was in a band with Travis Barker at the time and we practiced right across the street from the club.Mark Arnold(Big Drill Car,All Systems Go)ran the rehearsal studio as well as did sound at the club.We walked over to watch them soundcheck and Mark was just slamming them"They suck,every band has a DJ now,these guys suck".I looked over at Travis and he was like Mark is wrong these guys are REALLY good.Two years later they blew up(so did Travis)Who knew?There's my Incubus story.

The new cd is really cool.I don't like Mrning Vew that much,I prefer their old cd's anyway, but this album is full of energy, and the bass player sounds pretty good to me.The cd has a little punk vibe,so that's why I'm liking it so much.

Heard this last week, listened to it a few times now ...

They seem to have progressed, they use there DJ more 'instrumentally' than with samples and are adding some rather interesting effects. There is a real contrast from things like Meglomania and then Southern Girl (probably favorite track) at the other. A couple of the tracks feel samey but the album does progress as it goes along rather than it just being 14 tracks, its 1 album!

Does anyone know which studio was used to record this album as in places the quality is pritty terrible, there is an underlying hum in one place and it might just be me but I'm sure the singer sounds 'digitally pixelated' in places!

I just picked up the new Incubus today and... I really like it. Bass sound is real different than with Dirk. More of an old school sound.

Just got it off itunes. I'm almost done with my first listen. On first listen...I like it! It's got more energy than Morning View. The new bass player's tone is definately different than Dirk's Warwick. It fits really well though.

All in all. Good CD. And I'll prolly like it more by the end of the week (CDs tend to grow on me).

I've been listening to the album pretty much non-stop since I picked it up. It could quite possibly be the coolest album to come out since Ken Andrews' Year of the Rabbit that hit shelves some time ago now. I seriously can't get enough of it!

I need some Faith No More fans to confirm or deny this: Someone told me it sounds a lot like the mellower stuff on FNMs King for a Day fool for a lifetime album. True or False.

Of course the person who told me used "rip off" instead of "sounds like".
