Im familiar with FNM and you can say it sounds like them but only to a certain extent. Slight similairity though.

I bought "A Crow..." yesterday and I'm really liking what I've heard so far. I also like the few video clips that came on the extra DVD.

I'm still a little confused about Ben Kenney. I'm pretty sure he played guitar with the Roots... but now he plays bass with Incubus? I guess thats how it went. Because I know Leonard Hubbard was and still is the Roots bass player. But I also saw Kenney playing some guitar on the Incubus extra DVD.

I bought A Crow Left of the murder the day it came out. I was interested to see how they sounded without Dirk. And with the former guitar player for the Roots. I did like his playing on this album, but overall I was dissapointed with it. I thought megalomaniac was a great song, but everything else was sub par to what they had done before.

Meh. I disaggree. I think its better than the last 2 cds..

my sister saw megalomaniac for the first time today. she said a couple of stuff that was pretty stupid, even for me.

1.) whats a megalomaniac
2.) ewww! why are they drinking oil
3.) how'd they find someone that had an eagle head
4.) is the singer a boy or girl?
5.) does that dancer know shes doing the nazi sign?



but personally i love the band. they may only care about money/fame/whatever, but they're songs are really deep to me.

LOL. I think overall these guys are a great talent and can do almost any style they feel. I saw them at Lollapalooza and the Bass player is great. Whether he played guitar or not in another band makes no difference.

These guys all have skill and people should probably try being more open-minded instead of trying to place this band in one focus(Funk, rock, pop, rap-rock..)

Just love the Music and enjoy the talent.

man are me and fiendish the only ones?

i bought the new album for my girlfriend for valentines day, and we listened to it, and it blows. what the hell was brandon thinking on half these tracks? his voice is way too high on parts, his melody lines are bland, and it sounds like it took an hour to write all the songs. this cd would have never made it to any label if they werent already a biug band. and as for the absence of dirk, i can see now why hes not in the band, im happy for him that hes not in the band, they would have brought him down. incubus i loved, i loved MV, it has some pretty emotional songs on there and everything was awesome, science, MY, and fungous were all great, but im sorry, im not with the mainstream this time, im making my own decision, ACLOTM, sorry, dont like it.

I really enjoy the CD. I saw Incubus and got a freak chance of seeing Ben get off his bus. Everyone was going nuts (I really went to see Audioslave) and I said hey and then he pointed at me. I felt amazingly stupid after someone told me it was him :smug: Theydid an awsome show too....back to the CD. I dig the tracks, "Made for TV movie", "Pistola", "talk show on Mute".

I'm going to have to be the third thumbs down. I enjoyed all of the previous Incubus albums, but this one just isn't on the same level as the others. Musically, most of it is blah. Ben Kenney is ok, but I miss the drummer's more complicated grooves. Lyrically, it seems that Brandon is trying to be more intelligent than he actually is. As for their political message on Megalomaniac, I think that it's dumb when a band tries to be political all of a sudden, especially in this time where it is "en vogue" to be anti-establishment and anti-government. Comparisons to Rage's work and videos are poorly-founded.

I guess without Dirk the band is falling apart. :rolleyes:

I have not bought the CD yet, and I know I can't judge completely from 30sec samples on iTunes, but I really dont like what I hear so far. Really did not care for the title track. I was wondering what it was going to sound like without Alex. I got the MV sessions DVD for a friend for Christmas and he said it appeared that Dirk was very involved in the songwriting process.

I remember reading on Incubus' web site when Dirk left/was asked to leave/whatever and I remember exactly: "this music will be like melted chocolate on your necks and chests". I was thinking, man, who would want all that mess?

ok let me see if i can articulate this right.

ive had ACLOTM for about a week now so ive heard it over afew times. i never sole one cd as better then the other cuase you got to see a band grow up, change and mature; not only their music but as people to.

i personly think brandon has a "im smarter then everyone in the world" complex, all that aside. im glad im not the only one who sole rush in this cd. and i guess this is the point where i eat my words, i was perturbed when i heard dirk (the bass i grow up on) was gone. but.... i have to say this guy is good, he throws in a new directoin.

ok on to the cd itself, as with all cds i have i can turn it on and let it run and not have to skip a song. track six is my fav, and ill leave on this note. personaly i think/know that afew of the songs (as in 3 or 4) songs wore wrote about things going bad between brandon and dirk
