Indie rock relocating

Planning to skip town in the spring. I've caught the bug. Putting school off and want to do the indie rock life.
I want to find a scene or area that is supportive of the silversun pickups, mgmt, smashing pumpkins, raw jam band sort of style.

Basically I want opinions on which areas of the country have the best chance of success with that. I will tour a lot of course, but having a strong home court advantage is nice.

My area has some great musicians, but with school, women(sorry), and money they choose to put music as a 2nd or 3rd priority.

Including cost of living, venues, etc where would you move to as a free agent looking to start or join a group?

Open to any advice or opinions. And some trolls;D

Thanks guys!

You plan to skip which town? Where are you now?

There's no such information in your profile, so you might want to reference it. No sense in people advising you to go to a particular area...if you just happen to live there already... :eyebrow:
