Info about Yamaha BroadBass VIs

This bass has popped up locally for about US$290. It's a 1983 model and looks to be in good condition. I already have a BB1024x but I'm interested in this one, too. Anyone have any experience or info about this particular bass?

Short scale. Which is somewhere between 31-32” for Yamaha.
Those pick ups sound great in my BBVI and other BB with reverse configuration but wasn’t that great in my bb450 which is also regular configuration like this BBVIs.
This one has an ibanez strap button for a string retainer.

Excellent info, thank you very much.

I didn't realize it was short scale. That is a deal breaker for me.
