info on Ibanez 1915 bass

Hi

I'm looking for some info on this bass I'm about to buy, an Ibanez 1915 bass.

I know it was made in Japan in the early 70's, but I've got a few questions, no better place to ask than Talkbass!

Is this bass a full hollowbody or a semi-hollowbody (with solid center block) instrument?

Is it a shortscale or fullscale bass?

Does anyone know about common flaws, problems I should be aware of?

Now I know I could find the answers to these questions by inspecting the bass, but I won't have the opportunity to do that, got to buy it online. The seller assured me the bass is in excellent shape, but I'm a bit nervous buying a 40 year old instrument without close inspection. The seller seems to be a very nice guy though, so I think we might work out an agreement where I can return the bass if it's damaged/flawed/not working properly.

Anyone with first-hand experience with this bass is more then welcome to share their thoughts.

And here's a pic from the Ibanez catalogue:

This is the era before Ibanez was considered a quality brand. In fact, it was the era before most Japanese guitars were considered quality instruments. And the worst of that era were the hollowbody basses. They were thin sounding and the quality of manufature was poor. You don't see many around because they weren't made to last.

Unless you were VERY familiar with that specific bass, I would NOT buy that before playing it first. No way.
