Instrument Cable Recommendations: Right/Right 18-25'

Hi y'all -- so I wrote Rattlesnake and got an immediate, and thoughtful reply from the owner Hank.

I basically shared the same criteria above with him and he went point-by-point, giving me great confidence in their cables and the company itself. I can copy/paste the reply if anyone is interested.

When I asked point blank, why Rattlesnake instead of Mogami, he took the classy approach and didnt slag his competition, he did better he shared his cable's specs and said to compare with the other's.

Since I know nothing about this, what do these mean and how do they stackup? Thoughts?

I've owned a ton of cables over my 35+ years of playing. I've bought them from yard sales all the way up to "stupid of me to pay for this/boutique" cables from "elite" cable makers.
Rattlesnake cables have been the best quality cables that I've used and the responsiveness from the company is simply outstanding. Yes, the cost more than your typical Guitar Center cables but they are built like a tank, are reasonably priced for the quality of workmanship and materials and the customer service and communication can't be beat. I have never had a problem with any of their cables but I have no doubt that if I did, they'd respond in moments and do whatever it took to correct the situation.

Just my $.02 as usual but you can tell I'm a big fan.

Hi y'all --

I'm looking to replace an older Fender custom shop (deluxe) tweed cloth straight to right angle cable with something new, and high quality.

The main reason for replacing it is mainly the cloth cover has frayed, it still works, but I was also looking for right/right.

I play Precision basses and I like the right angle on my board or amp connection as well. I also have a pedal board with good quality patch cables but brands vary, not sure if that's a factor, for example, what's the point of spending a 100 bucks on your instrument cable if your signal passes thru normal live wire, fender, roland cables?

Here are my criteria, sorry if Im using novice terminology:

• must sound great, not color or ruin my instrument tone, zero noise
• 18-25'
• ideally right angles on both ends
• high quality construction (solid connectors, not flimsy, long lasting)
• doesn't kink, I roll my cables properly and my Earnie Ball cheapo sale bin cable irritates me because it refuses to stay nice, even during seated practicing, ugh!
• lifetime guarantee, easy return policy is a plus.
• budget, open to pay Mogami range prices (i.e., 90 bucks) only if justified

Bottom line, hoping to hear recommendations that hopefully answer to the above. Am I missing anything else, let me know. I never spent this much thought on the subject so those who are in this mindset, I appreciate that, but Im looking to get educated on the gear so thanks in advance.

DiMarzio EP1700 series. They come in 18 foot or 21 foot lengths, in a variety of overbraid colors, including Fender Tweed. They don't come right angle to right angle, only straight to straight or straight to right angle, but they otherwise will meet all your criteria. That being said, my DiMarzios are all over 25 years old, and still going strong. They will run you about $40 USD each.

Edit: Actually DiMarzio cables are lifetime warranty, the only exception to their 5-year warranty policy.

I received my Rattlesnake cables last Thursday and first impression - wooo hooo. Here's more thoughts, anyone have any questions I'd love to answer what I can.

The two cables came immaculately packed with care in two cloth bags along with some marketing materials and a note pad, with a handwritten thank you for my order. I also got a personal "thank you" email video from their owner Hank.

Without even plugging them in, there is no doubt this company cares about the details and it made me feel I made the right choice.

The cables came in the weave of my choice, Snake Weave, and they have a sturdy and indestructible quality, they are not soft like the Fender Custom Shop Deluxe, but I dont expect these to fray like the Fenders either.

Plugging them in at my band rehearsal, I can't say I heard any differences per se, but they did look sharp and having all the connections as right angle made plugging bass into board and board into amp precisely the way I want it.

1,000% satisfied and a 1,000% recommend them to anyone looking for high quality cables, made to order.
