There's a little town in Northern WI called Freedom. On some highway there's a sign that says "Freedom - 1 mile." It makes me giggle.

Gay St in Longmont, CO.
In case anyone doesn't know, I'm pretty non-religous. My mom & dad, OTOH, go to church every week. There's a church at the end of Gay St in Longmont, CO that they used to attend. Every time they'd say they're going to church I'd say "Oh, you going to the one on Gay St?" and they'd give me a naughty look and wouldn't even crack a smile.

When 911 emergency calls came about, all the streets and alleys that previously did not have "official" names were required to have one. In one neighborhood in my town, most the streets were named after trees such as oak, hickory, etc. Therefore, the city people decided to name the alleys after birds, which was a nice touch. Well, there used to be a strip club in the neighborhood and somebody decided to name the alley behind it as "Swallow Place". The club eventually was torn down.
Ha! I think my state holds some sort of record for odd names. Tickbite NC, Browntown NC (originally founded by slaves), Hog Island, Lizard Lick NC, Climax NC, Love Knob, a hiking trail called Hell's Half Acre, Toast NC, Nags Head NC, Kitty Hawk NC, Conetoe (pronounced ko-NEE-tah) NC, Black Jack NC, Frying Pan Landing nc, etc.
There are plenty more but that's the ones that jumped into my head quickly.
I used to play in a band years ago called Easy Street, and we would steal the corresponding sign in every town we played. Just about every town in NC and VA has an Easy Street, turns out.

I have a T shirt from the Toad Suck Festival there! My crazy uncle brought it back from a trip.
In BC, there's a city called Coquitlam. It's not intended to be a funny name and I never thought of it that way. Whenever the comedian Craig Ferguson has a show in BC, he makes a point of indicating that city's name sounds like it should be some type of s~x act. Haha!
Here in Pennsylvania there is a town called "intercourse".

Intercourse it not too far from Lebanon and Lititz if I recall. My ex in-laws are from Lancaster (pronounced LAN-kis-ter, not LAN-KAS-ter, right?). Spent some time up there. Pretty country, but more rednecks there than Eastern NC, and that's saying something!
Ha! No matter what, we just HAVE to squeeze in our obligatory "rich fat cat CEOs suck" jab, now don't we? Oy.
